We have reserved 60 slots for BYU Cougars to come lend a hand wrapping gifts at the Brown Santa warehouse. We anticipate slots will fill quickly, so grab yours now! Come serve with your fellow Cougars. This family-friendly project will have kid projects available and will help maintain a two-acre site that was purchased in 1937 to move gravesites that would be affected by the construction of Mansfield Dam and the formation of Lake Travis. It has been voluntarily run and taken care of since it began. This project is being done in conjunction with the Austin West stake

Sign‐up Needs:
1. Mowing / Weed‐wacking — Mow and weed-wack throughout the cemetery.
2. Back Area Brush Clean‐Up — Cut up and mulch thicker brush piles in the rear of the cemetery.
3. Cemetery Mapping Update — Place markers on unknown graves, help create a map of existing graves
and/or place unknown markers on gravesites with no occupant descriptive details.
4. Entrance Clean Up / Road Maintenance — Help repair entrance road that is parallel to the cemetery.
5. Kids Projects
6. Parking / Refreshments — Help direct parking and distribute refreshments.
7. Headstone Beautification / Selected Burial Site Cleanup — Help clean and beautify selected
gravesites.
In celebration of the new football season, BYU Austin alumni chapter will be hosting a Swag Bag hunt on September 17th at 11:00 am. We will post a picture of the Swag Bag in a well known Austin location. The first Cougar fan to arrive wearing Cougar colors will score the fun bag of Cougar swag. Happy hunting!
Both the Men's and Women's Lacrosse teams are playing in their respective National Championship Tournaments, which are taking place in Round Rock, Texas. Come out and support our Cougars! Here are the links with dates, times, and field numbers:

He is a favorite at Education Week, a professor at BYUI, and just returned from teaching at the BYU Jerusalem Center. Saturday, Dec. 28 at the Chapel in Pflugerville. Playing 50 brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments, the BYU Wind Symphony delights audiences with an exhilarating kaleidoscope of music. In addition to marches and arrangements of classical pieces, the group presents contemporary works by composers from throughout the world.
The Wind Symphony has been a guest performer at the American Bandmasters Association Convention, College Band Directors’ National Association Convention, and at the Music Educators’ National Conference. In addition, the BYU Wind Symphony tours internationally and has traveled to Asia, Russia, New Zealand, throughout Europe, and most recently to Australia in 2018. Overall, the BYU Wind Symphony has toured over 26 countries.
They will be presenting a musical fireside for the Central Texas area on May 9th, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. The presentation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1000 Rutherford Ln, Austin, TX 78753. We invite the community to join us for this special event. Dress code for this event is Sunday dress.
The Austin BYU Alumni will be hosting a social and networking lunch on Friday, May 3rd. This is a casual event to get to know other BYU alumni and friends in the area. All are welcome, including BYU Alumni and non-BYU Alumni. We look forward to seeing you there! More information below:

The Freshman Send Off is a chance for you to meet and socialize with other recently accepted freshmen from the Austin area. We will have seasoned BYU students in attendance to answer all of your questions. Lunch will be served, including BYU mint brownies. This is an event not to be missed!

Austin BYU Alumni has a social and networking lunch on the first Friday of each month. All are welcome including BYU Alumni and non BYU Alumni. This is a casual event to get to know other BYU alumni and friends in the area, and you don't need to bring anything except an appetite.
The Austin Tech Summit by BYU Alumni will be held November 9th at the beautiful, new Oracle campus. This event will bring tech-industry professionals from the Austin metro area together for professional development and networking. The Summit will include Ted-style talks from prominent tech leaders and experts on topics including Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Security, and Dev Ops. Come join us to learn, share ideas and network with other tech-industry professionals in Austin.
BYU Noteworthy will be performing in Austin on November 2nd. After touring throughout the United States and winning the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, this nine-voice, all-female ensemble has become one of the most popular collegiate a cappella groups in the nation.
